Marandi vs teak at a glance

  • Teak: a premium hardwood known for natural oils, moisture resistance and golden grain.

  • Marandi: a hardwood widely used in Indian furniture frames, usually more affordable.

  • On our site: 17 designs list Marandi and 2 list teak.

  • Same comfort layer: all list 220 gsm suede fabric and 40 density foam.

When a teak frame makes sense

Choose teak if you love an exposed wooden look, live in a humid city or want a classic wood that is known for long life. Our two teak designs show the wood on the arms and base.

When a Marandi frame makes sense

Choose Marandi if you want the widest choice of designs, including storage, Chesterfield and sectional styles. It is the frame wood on most of our sofa cum beds. Read wooden vs fabric sofa cum bed for exposed wood vs fully upholstered designs.

Wood care for Indian weather

  • Dust weekly and wipe with a dry cloth.

  • Keep the frame off wet floors after mopping.

  • Avoid long hours of direct sun on exposed wood.

  • Use a cover to protect the fabric.
