When a marble dining table makes sense
Choose marble if you want a natural stone centrepiece that looks different from every other table. Our marble top dining collection lists 7 designs with natural marble and 24 with onyx marble, all on a teak wood frame. With simple care, a marble top ages well and becomes part of the family.
When quartz may suit you
Quartz suits buyers who want a very uniform look and the lowest-maintenance surface, and who don't mind an engineered material. It is common in kitchen counters for that reason. Remember that resin can be marked by very high heat.
Simple care for a marble top
Use coasters for tea, coffee, juice and nimbu pani.
Wipe spills at once with a soft damp cloth.
Avoid acidic or harsh cleaners such as lemon, vinegar or bleach.

Frequently asked questions
What is the main difference between a marble and a quartz dining table? Marble is a natural stone cut from a quarry, so every slab has its own veining. Quartz is an engineered stone made from crushed quartz bound with resin, so its colour and pattern are more uniform.
Is quartz more stain resistant than marble? Generally, yes. Quartz is non-porous, while marble is porous and can stain or etch if tea, lemon, vinegar or oil is left on it. With coasters and quick wiping, marble stays beautiful for years.
Is marble or quartz better with hot dishes? Natural marble copes with warmth better than resin-bound quartz, but neither top should take a hot kadhai or tawa directly. Use trivets and mats on both.
Do you sell quartz dining tables? No. Our marble top dining tables list natural marble or onyx marble tops on an Indian teak (sagwan) wood frame.
What sizes do your marble dining tables come in? Our pages list a 6 seater of 3 ft by 5.5 ft and a 4 seater of 3 ft by 4 ft, both 31 inches high.
