Where is the best area to buy furniture in Delhi?

It depends on where you live. Kirti Nagar in West Delhi is the city's best-known furniture hub and is handy for West Delhi and Gurgaon. The relocated Panchkuian market near Gole Market is central. Shastri Park in Shahdara is closest for East Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida. If you need an exact size, a custom order from any of them, or online, can be easier.

Which furniture markets in Delhi close on Monday?

Travel guides such as TripHippies report that most Kirti Nagar shops close on Monday, and the Wanderlog listing for the Panchkuian market shows it closed on Monday. Off days vary shop by shop, so call before you go. Our Shastri Park showroom is open 10 AM to 8 PM, all 7 days.

Is the Panchkuian furniture market still on Panchkuian Road?

Not on the old roadside stretch. Times of India reported that the shops were demolished in November 2010 for Delhi Metro work and moved to a complex on Bhai Vir Singh Marg near Gole Market.

Which metro line serves each furniture area?

Kirti Nagar has its own station on the Blue Line. Shastri Park and Seelampur stations on the Red Line serve the Shastri Park and Gandhi Nagar furniture shops in East Delhi.

Can I get customised furniture in Delhi?

Yes. At Golden Paradise Furniture every sofa model can be custom-sized, and our custom sofas take about 7 working days to make. For beds, dining tables and other pieces, send your size and we confirm what can be changed.

Searching for furniture in Delhi usually means choosing an area first, because the city's furniture hubs sit far apart: Kirti Nagar in the west, the Panchkuian market near Gole Market in the centre, and Shastri Park and Gandhi Nagar in the east. This guide maps each area, who it suits, how to get there and which day to avoid, so you plan one good trip instead of three tiring ones. All products are 30% off with free delivery across India.

West Delhi: Kirti Nagar

Kirti Nagar is a large, spread-out market, so plan more time than you think. It has its own station on the Blue Line (Wikipedia). Travel guides such as TripHippies report that most shops close on Monday, though some keep other off days, so call the shop you want to see before you leave.

Central Delhi: the Panchkuian market near Gole Market

Panchkuian Road was once Central Delhi's best-known furniture stretch. Times of India reported that most shops there were demolished in November 2010 for Delhi Metro work and moved to Bhai Vir Singh Marg near Gole Market. Its Wanderlog listing shows it open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Monday. Check the current location and timings before you travel.

East Delhi: Shastri Park and Gandhi Nagar

Shastri Park in Shahdara (110053) is a furniture-focused market between the Shastri Park and Seelampur stations on the Red Line. Nearby, furniture dealers are listed along Gandhi Nagar Main Road (110031), in an area best known for its garments market. Our Shahdara and East Delhi guide shows how to see both in one trip, and our Shastri Park showroom visit guide explains the walk to Gate No. 4.

Which day to go

Avoid Monday for Kirti Nagar and Panchkuian: guides report most shops there close that day.
Go early on weekends: markets get crowded on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Weekday mornings are calmest: more time to sit on sofas and discuss sizes.
Our showroom never closes for a weekly off: 10 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Sunday. See which furniture shops are open on Monday.

Market, showroom or custom order?

Whichever area you choose, the bigger decision is how you buy. Our guide to the best place to buy furniture in Delhi compares markets, showrooms and online in detail. In short: a market works when a displayed size fits your room. If your wall, lift or doorway needs a different size, order customised furniture in Delhi instead. You can still see designs in person at our showroom first, then order the same piece in your size, or browse our customised furniture online range from home.

Before you shop: a Delhi checklist

Measure the room, every door and the lift; builder floors and old flats often have narrow stairs.
Shortlist online first, for example the Solid Wood Dining Table With 4 Chairs, which lists a 4 ft x 3 ft table, solid Indian teak wood, 220 gsm suede and 40 density foam.
Ask which wood or board each piece uses and get it written on the bill.
Ask for the warranty in writing. Ours is 12 months.
Confirm whether delivery is included and when it will arrive.

Offer and warranty

All products are 30% off with free delivery across India. Our warranty is 12 months against manufacturing and workmanship defects under normal household use. Full terms are in our store policies.
